La red social Facebook continúa con su crecimiento imparable. Uno de los campos claves de su estrategia es la industrial móvil, donde presenta unos excelentes resultados.
Del total de sus 500 millones de miembros, Facebook cuenta con 150 millones de usuarios en plataformas móviles. Sobre todo destaca que estos usuarios participan el doble en la red social que los que acceden desde puntos fijos como ordenadores.
El portal Flowtown ha recopilado en una vistosa infografía los datos oficiales de Facebook. En los datos facilitados, se puede leer también que más de 200 operadores, de 60 países distintos, han añadido una aplicación de Facebook en sus terminales o están en desarrollo para ello.
Otros datos destacados son los que hacen referencia a la penetración de las aplicaciones de Facebook según las empresas fabricantes de dispositivos móviles. En este caso los usuarios de dispositivos de la marca Apple son los que más aplicaciones de Facebook consumen en sus terminales, seguidos a distancia de la conocida BlackBerry de RIM y muy por detrás se encuentran los de Android.
De hecho, en el caso del terminal de Apple, Facebook es la aplicación más consumida, con un 60 por ciento de usuarios que la utilizan en Estados Unidos. Este porcentaje baja ligeramente hasta el 50 por ciento en el caso de BlackBerry y Android.
En cuanto al tipo de dispositivos, los datos presentan un aumento muy claro en el acceso a Facebook a través de la nueva generación de ‘smarthphone’. De enero a 2009 a enero de 2010 el aumento del acceso en este tipo de terminales ha sido de un 8,3 por ciento.
Otro dato que muestra el crecimiento de esta red social a través del móvil es el incremento de la actividad: en 2009 se realizaron 65 millones de búsqueda de usuarios y en una año se ha aumentado a más del doble, hasta las 150 millones de búsquedas.
La infografía finaliza mostrando las categorías de las aplicaciones más usadas en el formato móvil. Como no podía ser de otra manera, las redes sociales acaparan una gran mayoría y su uso ha aumentado en un 240 por ciento, seguido a mucha distancia por el acceso a aplicaciones sobre noticias o deportes.
