Las Keynote de Apple celebradas en Septiembre, suelen ser las menos destacadas por sus usuarios. Esto se debe, a que están dedicadas íntegramente al contenido musical, y como mucho a los contenidos audiovisuales. Ahora bien, la de hoy será recordada durante tiempo por dos razones: La primera, el renacimiento del Apple TV. La segunda, el abandono de Apple al iPod Classic (Lo poco que queda que mantiene una apariencia con el verdadero iPod). Desde Londres, ciudad donde Apple ha reunido la prensa especializada para presentar sus nuevos productos, te comentamos las primeras impresiones sobre las novedades
Ha sido una presentación rápida, en poco más de cuarenta minutos, Jobs ya había presentado toda la gama de los nuevos iPods. El nuevo iPod Shuffle, como bien comenta el CEO de Apple durante la presentación, es una mezcla entre el Shuffle 2 y el Shuffle 3. En definitiva, es el diseño que había hasta ahora añadiéndole el Click Wheel característico de Apple. Según han explicado, no todos los usuarios se habían acostumbrados al Voice Over, por lo que han decidido realizar un híbrido que incorporase teclado y tecnología Voice Over.
El nuevo iPod Nano ha sido el más revolucionario. Abandona el teclado y se convierte en una pequeña pantalla multitáctil. Por lo que se ha podido observar, incorpora una versión ‘capada’ de iOS, aunque este dato no ha sido confirmado. En directo, es un producto muy vistoso, aunque dudo de su practicidad en personas que tengan las manos muy grandes. Al mismo Steve Jobs durante la presentación hemos visto que le costaba un poco usarlo.
El iPod Touch conserva la esencia y diseño del anterior (que guardaba cierto parecido con el anterior iPhone). Aún que incorpora la pantalla con tecnología Retina Display, el procesador A4 de Apple, cámara delantera (para FaceTime) y trasera (capaz de grabar en Full HD), es más delgado que la anterior versión. Las capacidades siguen siendo las mismas que hasta ahora.
Junto a la nueva gama de iPods, se ha presentado el nuevo iTunes 10 (qué no X, como se rumoreaba), que presenta varias novedades, como el cambio de logotipo. La novedad más importante, es la creación de Ping, una red social dedicada a la música. Como he comentado durante la retransmisión en directo de la Keynote, a mi modo de ver, lo que pretende Apple con Ping es crear una red social musical que acabe con el reinado de MySpace, utilizando Social Tools muy parecidas a las que disponemos en Facebook o Twitter. De momento es una incógnita, pero el hecho de que sólo esté disponible a través de aplicación y no a través de web, será un hándicap importante, al menos desde mi punto de vista.
Por último, han presentado el nuevo Apple TV. Sin relación aparente con el anterior, es la propuesta de Apple para revolucionar el mercado televisivo. De momento, para el alquiler de series y películas en la nube, cuenta con los acuerdos firmados con ABC y News Corp (FOX), además de ser compatible con otros servicios como Netflix (un punto muy importante para entrar en los hogares estadounidenses). Su precio es muy competitivo, 99 dólares, y los precios del alquiler de las series y películas también son bajos, aunque se hecha de menos una tarifa plana. La única pena es que se desconoce cuando llegará a España.
