Apple ha dado el primer paso para el lanzamiento de una nueva versión táctil de su línea de ordenadores iMac, según unos documentos presentados ante la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI).
La patente, que fue presentada en enero, muestra los planes para un ordenador de escritorio iMac con una pantalla táctil. El soporte se movería arriba y abajo y, la pantalla, se podrá girar para convertirse en un dispositivo tipo ‘tablet’.
Otra de las novedades del nuevo iMac es que el dispositivo cambiaría del sistema operativo Apple para ordenadores, OS X, para tareas de computación de escritorio y su equivalente móvil iOS, para un eso similar al iPad, según recogió Portaltic del diario británico ‘The Telegraph’.
De acuerdo con los documentos presentados en la Organización OMPI, el equipo ejecutará OS X cuando se utiliza en una configuración estándar –con ratón y teclado–. Sin embargo, se cambiará automáticamente a iOS cuando el usuario ajuste la configuración para que sea más adecuado para el manejo táctil.
Los sensores en los lados de la pantalla detectarían cuando se está acercando o alejando el dispositivo mientras que un acelerómetro en la propia pantalla también sería capaz de detectar el movimiento y cambiar entre iOS y OS X.
