Apple decía que todos los terminales de todos los fabricantes pierden algo de cobertura cuando se toca con las manos el área que contiene la antena. La redacción de este rotativo ha revisado algunos manuales de reputados constructores, con resultados diversos.
Guillem Alsina – Por mucho que Nokia se ría públicamente de la compañía de la manzana mordida, es la primera en advertir (al menos en el manual de su “buque insignia” N900) que tocar o rozar con la mano la zona del teléfono que cobija la antena puede afectar a la calidad de la comunicación.
Concretamente, el siguiente texto consta en la página 20 del manual de usuario del N900: “Es posible que su dispositivo tenga antenas internas y externas. No toque la antena cuando esté transmitiendo o recibiendo a menos que sea necesario. El contacto con antenas afecta a la calidad de la comunicación, puede originar una potencia superior durante el funcionamiento y puede acortar la duración de la batería”.

Sony Ericsson no hace un anuncio tan abierto, pero de forma más velada sí advierte en el manual del Xperia X10 de la posibilidad que el roce de la piel con la zona del terminal en la que se aloja la antena puede llevar a efectos no deseados: “No cubra la antena del teléfono cuando esté realizando una llamada o transfiriendo datos. La antena se encuentra en la parte posterior del teléfono”. No da más pistas, pero si lo recomienda por algo debe ser.
Samsung, en el manual de su Wave, también realiza advertencias veladas: en el caso que “la calidad de sonido es deficiente”, el fabricante coreano recomienda “Asegúrese de no estar bloqueando la antena interna del dispositivo”, pero sin especificar nada más.
Como vemos, de los tres fabricantes examinados, solamente Nokia advierte con algo de claridad sobre la posibilidad que la calidad de la comunicación se vea afectada al rozar la parte del teléfono que contiene la antena con la mano. Pasemos a ver ahora otros fabricantes.
Ni en el caso de RIM (BlackBerry) ni en el de HTC hemos encontrado, por lo menos en los manuales examinados, texto alguno que haga referencia a posibles problemas de cobertura o con el rendimiento de antena o batería si se toca con la mano la parte del terminal que la aloja.
¿La conclusión? Difícil, sin lugar a dudas, aunque por ahora nadie se ha quejado en otros terminales que no sean de Apple…
