Oriol Cortés – Steve Jobs realizó ayer la Keynote más dificil de la historia de Apple. Por primera vez, la gran estrella de la presentación era un producto que se había filtrado, por lo que nadie se sorprendió cuando Jobs enseñó el iPhone 4. Fue la gran novedad, y casi la única (con la excepción) de iMovie for iPhone y FaceTime (las videollamadas en el iPhone). Todo lo demás, lo conociamos. Ni Mac Mini con HDMI, ni un nuevo Apple TV, ni Mac Pro, ni MacBook Air, ni Trackpad Magic, ni Safari 5 (aunque se mostró, posteriormente, en otro evento de la WWDC). El público se quedó frío, y los mercados reaccionaron a la baja, cerrando con unas pérdidas de un 5,02%.
Aunque este primer párrafo parezca un poco pesimista, nada más lejos de la realidad. El iPhone 4 es un gran terminal, y que dará mucho que hablar. Sin la ‘trama Gizmodo’ de la cuál se podría realizar una película, y que desgraciadamente nunca sabremos toda la verdad, el iPhone 4, hubiera cautivado ayer a todos los usuarios que poblaban el Moscone Center. Sí se cuantificara lo que le ha costado a Apple la filtración a Gizmodo, se realizaría por una cifra de decenas millones de dólares. Y eso, que en 2007, en plena guerra gizmodo/engadget por ser el blog de tecnología más visitado, Steve Jobs anunció que él prefería Gizmodo. Curioso que, ahora, no tengan acceso a ningún evento de Apple. iPhone 4, llegará al mercado el próximo 21 de junio, en varios países, entre los que no se encuentra España, que nos deberemos esperar hasta finales de septiembre.
El nuevo iPhone incorpora una cámara capaz de grabar vídeo en HD (720p y 30 frames por segundo), por lo que Apple pensó que sería una gran idea poder disponer de un iMovie en iPhone, que permitiera combinar secuencias de vídeo, añadir transiciones dinámicas y temas, e incluir fotos y música. Está disponible en la App Store, directamente desde su iPhone, por sólo 4,99 dólares en EEUU.
Otra de las grande novedades, fue el cambio de nombre del sistema operativo. De iPhone OS, a iOS. Esto se debe a que, mientras antes sólo servía para iPhone e iPod Touch (que era considerado una versión ‘lite’ del iPhone), ahora es el SO también del iPad, y se preveé que del futuro Apple TV. Un cambio de nomenclatura, que sorprendió a todos. Además, otra de las sorpresas, es que será un SO completamente gratuito. Steve Jobs realizó una presentación completa del nuevo SO, del que explicó que se ha tardado dieciocho meses en desarrollarlo, junto al nuevo iPhone. Además, con el nuevo SO, llega iBooks, la tienda de libros que tenemos actualmente disponible en iPad.
Por último, el iAd fue el último plato fuerte que presentó Apple. Aunque ya se había anunciado en la última Keynote, se realizó una extensa demostración de su funcionamiento y se anunciaron varios anuncios: Primero, que Nissan, Citi, Unilever, AT&T, Chanel, GE, Liberty Mutual, State Farm, Geico, Campbells, Sears, JC Penny, Target, Best Buy, Direct TV, TBS, y Disney ya han empezado a desarrollar sus anuncios para dicha plataforma. Segundo, que iAd moverá un volumen inicial de sesenta millones de dólares y, tercero, que iAd representará el 48% del mercado de los anuncios móviles en la segunda mitad de 2010.
