Desde hace cinco días que Apple comenzó a retirar de su tienda virtual de aplicaciones iTunes todos los programas que podían contener contenido pornográfico o cosiderado para adultos, una decisión que hasta ahora se mantenía inexplicable.
Pero Phil Schiller, vicepresidente de marketing de la compañía, salió a dar las explicaciones correspondientes para este abrupto cambio. ¿La razón? Las constantes críticas que recibían de las mujeres.
Según dijo el ejecutivo al diario The New York Times, llegó un punto donde recibían demasiadas quejas de mujeres que “encontraban el contenido demasiado degradante”, lo mismo que algunos padres que no estaban contentos con lo que sus hijos podían ver.
La tienda de Apple fue reacia durante mucho tiempo a permitir contenido para adultos, pero de a poco lo fue aceptando para regocijo de muchos clientes. Pero no duró demasiado, y la marca de la manzana ha demostrado que nunca estuvo demasiado convencida de la decisión.
Y en Chile ya se han registrado algunos problemas. A través de Twitter, Felipe Baytelman, fundador de Baytex, una de las empresas encargadas de desarrollar aplicaciones para iPhone, sostuvo que la nueva versión gratuita de su juego “Girls & Drinks” fue rechazada “por obscena o difamatoria”.
Sin embargo, la versión gratuita que ya tenían en iTunes, así como la pagada, no han sido removidas, lo que también ha sucedido con muchas otras a nivel internacional, como la de las populares revistas Playboy y Sports Illustrated.
