Amazon continúa extendiendo el uso de Kindle, no sólo mejorando su lector sino ampliando la aplicación que permite reproducir sus libros electrónicos en otros. La compañía ha anunciado el lanzamiento de la aplicación para iPhone e iPod Touch en 60 países.
Kindle ya está disponible para ordenador, iPhone e iPod Touch. Precisamente, estos últimos dos dispositivos verán crecer la popularidad de Kindle en sus circtuitos en los próximos meses gracias al lanzamiento de la plataforma en 60 nuevos países. En este sentido, ya se puede descargar en España.
"Estamos emocionados con que la aplicación esté disponible para los usuarios de Apple e iPod Touch en más de 60 países, permitiéndoles acceder a la vasta selección de los libros más populares, todos disponibles de forma inalámbricas desde la Kindle Store", ha afirmado el vicepresidente de Amazon Kindle, Ian Freed.
"La iPhone App es el complemento perfecto para los clientes que poseen Kindle o Kindle DX, y una gran forma para que los usuarios de todo el mundo descarguen y lean libros, a pesar de que no tengan un Kindle", continuó.
La aplicación de Kindle para iPhone permite, entre otras cosas, descargar y leer cientos de miles de libros disponibnles en la Kindle Store. Además, los clientes pueden empezar a leer los libros antes de comprarlo. Se puede añadir y sincronizar marcadores o puntos de "última página leída".
Teniendo en cuenta el desembolso previo de dinero, Amazon también permite acceder a la librería ebooks adquiridos previamente de forma gratuita. También ofrece la posibilidad de elegir seis tipos de fuentes diferentes, leer notas tomadas en los dispositivos originales o acceder a libros a todo color como ejemplares de cocinas o novelas gráficas.
