Expectativa en el mercado había levantado la llegada de Droid, el terminal de Motorola bautizado por los medios como “el iPhone Killer”.
Si bien las ventas no fueron nada mal. Verizon sólamente consiguió colocar 100.000 terminales, justo la mitad de las previsiones que la operadora habia hecho para el lanzamiento.
Verizon, que ha invertido una gran cantidad de dinero en promocionar el móvil como un iphones Killer, esperaba agotar las existencias aumentando así las expectativas del mercado hacía su apuesta para hacer frente a AT&T y a Apple.
Cabe recordar que mientras Verizon vendió 100.000 ejemplares de Droid en 48 horas, AT&T colocó 1 millones de terminales también en el primer fin de semana del iPhone.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
