Apple y China Unicom lanzaron oficialmente el iPhone en China, el país con mayor número de usuarios de telefonía móvil del mundo.
El iPhone era muy esperado en China y se prevén buenas ventas aunque Apple y China Unicom deberán enfrentarse a la existencia de más de 2 millones de iPhones que existen en el país llegados de contrabando así como a otro elevado número de terminales falsos que siguen comercializándose de manera ilegal.
Las previsiones de Apple y China Unicom alcanzan unas ventas de 5 millones de unidades.
Además, su competidor y líder del mercado China Mobile comercializa desde hace unos meses distintos terminales conocidos como Ophone, uno de los cuales es fabricado por el gigante chino Lenovo.
iPhone Limitado
Algunas de las funciones más relevantes del iPhone han sido bloqueadas en el terminal que se vende en China.
Además, como ya viene siendo habitual en China el acceso a Internet se establece a través de los Proxys instalados por el Gobierno, desde los que se bloquean sitios de carácter político, pornográfico, contactos, etc.
China Unicom es el segundo operador de China con 249 millones de abonados mientras que China Mobile, la líder, suma cuenta con 493 millones.
