. Synology ha actualizado su aplicación para iPhone DS audio, y comunica que se puede descargar gratuitamente desde la tienda online Apple App Store.
Con la nueva versión DS audio 1.1 los usuarios pueden mostrar su lista de reproducción cambiando la orientación del iPhone de vertical a panorámica. También pueden editar sus listas de reproducción On-the-Go, por ejemplo, eligiendo canciones desde álbumes, artistas, u otras listas, e incluso del motor de búsqueda.
“DS audio ha superado las 9,800 descargas desde su lanzamiento el 22 de julio de este año, y hemos recibido sugerencias y comentarios muy positivos de parte de los usuarios”, dijo Edward Lin, director de marketing de Synology.
El feedback de los usuarios de Synology salta a la vista en la iTunes store, donde DS audio ha sido catalogado como “una herramienta muy práctica para escuchar vía streaming, en el iPhone, la música que tienes en el NAS”, y donde se pueden ver otros comentarios como el siguiente: “Esta aplicación ha reducido mi necesidad de sincronizar la librería del iTunes con mi iPhone… Si quiero escuchar algo, simplemente lo conecto y ya le puedo dar a reproducir”.
DS audio fue lanzada en julio de este año, junto con la herramienta DS Photo, que permite a los usuarios subir fotos almacenadas en su iPhone/iPod Touch a su servidor NAS Synology Disk Station fácilmente, mientras las comparten instantáneamente con cualquier persona online.
Ambas aplicaciones forman parte del software Disk Station Manager 2.2 -lanzado en septiembre- que cumple la función de administrador de los servidores NAS de Synology.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
