El rumor saltó hace unos días, pero parece que se va confirmando poco a poco.
A principios de marzo de éste año, el periódico Expansión publicó que Apple buscaba locales de 1000 m2 en Madrid y Barcelona para abrir este año su primer Apple Store en el mercado nacional. En dicho artículo, se decía que la creación de un Apple Store en Barcelona era un tema muy avanzado, y que la tienda sería inaugurada éste mismo año.
Pasó el tiempo, y no se volvió a comentar la noticia… hasta principios de este mes. El día 2, un usuario de Macuarium (la primera comunidad de Mac en Español) publicaba un post explicando que la tienda en Barcelona se ubicaría en la avenida Paseo de Gracia número 36, en la antigua sede del Banco Sabadell. En este emplazamiento, además, se está construyendo un hotel de cinco estrellas de la cadena Mandarin Oriental.
Muchos usuarios de Macuarium desconfiaron de la noticia y cayeron en el escepticismo. Y es normal, pues aunque el autor es un usuario con muchos mensajes y años en la Comunidad, todo parecía demasiado ‘perfecto’ para ser real. Además, han salido tantos rumores de la creación de una Apple Store en España, que este parecía uno más. Pero parece que poco a poco se va confirmando, y que el número 36 de la Avenida Paseo de Gracia será la primera Apple Store en España.
Las claves
Apple buscaba un local céntrico y con más de 1000 m2. Con la remodelación de la antigua sede del Banco Sabadell, además del hotel de cinco estrellas, habrá dos locales comerciales de ese tamaño.
Dos usuarios de Macuarium se han pasado por la obra, y comentan que los obreros y personal de seguridad, les han comentado que Apple anda detrás de uno de los locales, aunque el secretismo es máximo. El local que se quedaría Apple, no está a la vista para los peatones, aunque las obras que se están realizando actualmente, son más de acondicionamiento de los locales que de estructura.
El segundo usuario, señala además que el local está en venta y que Apple, junto a otras empresas planearía comprarlo por una cifra cercana a los cuarenta millones de euros. Ésta segunda información, es una práctica anormal, pues casi todos los locales comerciales céntricos, son alquilados y no comprados.
Nos hemos acercado a las obras, y efectivamente, desde fuera es imposible descubrir nada. Además, el secretismo es absoluto. Sinceramente, después de hablar con el personal de vigilancia (esto si que nos lo han confirmado), creemos que Apple está detrás de uno de los dos locales, pero para alquilarlo y no comprarlo. Aunque, con la marca de Cupertino, nunca se sabe.
De momento no hay nada confirmado; El Hotel, si todo sigue con lo previsto será inaugurado el próximo 23 de octubre. Se especula que los dos locales comerciales podrían estar listos para Navidad, aunque cabe destacar que si se da la segunda opción, y el local es adquirido y no alquilado, la Apple Store no estaría listo, de ninguna de las maneras, para la campaña navideña.
