Apple dió de nuevo en la diana con la App Store.
No era una idea novedosa. En principio se trataba de copiar el modelo que tantos beneficios le esta proporcionando, la iTunes, al mundo de las aplicaciones y la telefonía móvil. Además, ya Microsoft había intentado, sin ninguna fortuna, hacer algo similar con Windows Live, pero para los PCs.
Pero si algo sabe hacer Apple es manejar adecuadamente la publicidad, la comunicación y por supuesto esta calida relación que mantiene con su comunidad de usuarios (y no clientes, como nos acostumbra a llamar Microsoft).
Y dió en la diana. Presente en 77 países, la App Store cuenta con 75.000 aplicaciones de todo tipo, incluidos Juegos, Economía y Empresa, Noticias, Salud y forma física, Referencia y Viajes.
Desde su lanzamiento se han descargado de la App Store 1.800 millones de aplicaciones… un buen número de ellos gratuitas y otras a precios muy económicos y al alcance de cualquier bolsillo, otro de los grandes aciertos de Apple.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
