Hace más de un mes y medio, el investigador de seguridad Charlie Miller avisó a Apple sobre un problema grave con el manejo de los mensajes de texto que hacía que el iPhone pudiera quedar bajo control de un hacker.
Agencias – El experto comentó este jueves en la conferencia Black Hat que el agujero de seguridad es “aterrador” y que los usuarios deben saber que el teléfono no es totalmente seguro. Además, agregó que los hackers podrían aprovecharse de esta falla en menos de dos semanas.
Entre las cosas que podría hacer el hacker a distancia se encuentran encender el GPS del equipo y mandar las coordenadas, encender el micrófono y grabar audio para posteriormente mandarlo, entre otras funciones.
La compañía de Steve Jobs ha tenido más de mes y medio para subsanar el problema en su última versión de sistema operativo, sin embargo aún no ha lanzado una solución. “Apple debería reparar a la brevedad posible la vulnerabilidad“, dijo Miller.
¿Cómo saber si el equipo es atacado? Según el blog Mashable, los usuarios recibirán un mensaje de texto con un solo caracter cuadrado, lo que derivará en que el equipo deje de responder. El sitio web recomienda apagar el aparato para evitar que los pillos tomen el control.
Sin embargo, como muchas amenazas informáticas, no hay que alarmarse demasiado ni pensar que el iPhone es muy inseguro. Lo único que los usuarios pueden hacer es ser cauteloso con la información que reciben y esperar que Apple solucione el problema.
