El modelo más básico de este simpático ‘gadget’ viene en formato ‘clip’ y reacciona a la música sólo con luces LED, a un precio de 19,95 euros (únicamente la cabeza, que se engancha a cualquier solapa). Se trata de un altavoz pensado para llevar encima, encanchado al cinturón, por ejemplo.
El siguiente modelo, i-Dog AMP (29,95 euros) también reacciona a la música mediante LEDs de colores y moviendo sus patas y orejas y está dotado de dos altavoces. Su mayor tamaño hace que ya no sea cómodo llevarlo encima pero sigue siendo lo suficientemente compacto como para ser fácil de transportar.
Sin embargo, el alma de la fiesta es el modelo Dance de i-Dog (49,95 euros). Este perro cibernético es el más completo y no sólo baila al ritmo de la música. También se pone de pie y mueve el pie al compás de las canciones.
La potencia de los dos altavoces del i-Dog es limitada, por lo que a cierto volumen las canciones comienzan a sonar distorsionadas. En este sentido, el cánido no puede competir con otros dispositivos de salida de audio.
Sin embargo, el i-Dog juega en otra liga. Es ese regalo perfecto, simpático y entrañable que cualquier tecnófilo recibirá con los brazos abiertos. También, claro, hará las delicias de los pequeños de la casa que empiezan a familiarizarse con el mundo de la música.
Su “cara”, dotada de LEDs de colores que se mueven al son de la música, es táctil y permite la interacción. Acariciándola, el usuario sube y baja el volumen dependiendo del sentido. Además, dependiendo de qué movimientos haga en su cara, el perro hace unos u otros movimientos. Se trata de un ‘gadget’ muy jugueton, y si el reproductor se para, ladrará hasta que se renueve la música.
