Apple ha anunciado hoy el nuevo iPhone 3G que combina todas las revolucionarias características del iPhone con comunicación en redes 3G que duplica la velocidad de la primera generación del iPhone, capacidad GPS y software iPhone 2.0 que incluye compatibilidad con Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
En EEUU, el nuevo iPhone 3G tendrá el atractivo precio de 199 dólares el modelo de 8 GB y 299 dólares el modelo de 16 GB. El iPhone 3G estará disponible a lo largo de este año en más de 70 países, empezando por los siguientes 22 países el próximo 11 de julio: Alemania, Australia, Austria, Bélgica, Canadá, Dinamarca, EEUU, España, Finlandia, Francia, Holanda, Hong Kong, Irlanda, Italia, Japón, México, Nueva Zelanda, Noruega, Portugal, Reino Unido, Suecia y Suiza.
“Sólo un año después de lanzar el iPhone, lanzamos el nuevo iPhone 3G que es el doble de rápido y a la mitad del precio“, dice Steve Jobs, CEO de Apple. “El iPhone 3G es compatible de origen con Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, ejecuta las increíbles aplicaciones de empresas independientes creadas con el iPhone SDK, y estará disponible este año en más de 70 países de todo el mundo“.
El iPhone 3G proporciona a los usuarios un acceso aún más rápido a Internet y al correo electrónico a través de redes de telefonía móvil GSM cuatribanda y HSDPA tribanda para comunicación de voz y datos en todo el mundo. El iPhone 3G opera en redes Wi-Fi, 3G y EDGE y conmuta de manera automática entre ellas para garantizar la máxima velocidad de descarga posible. El nuevo iPhone 3G hace que sea aún más fácil mantener de manera simultánea comunicaciones de voz y datos, en régimen multitarea. Con el iPhone 3G el usuario puede navegar la web, localizar ubicaciones en el mapa o examinar su correo electrónico mientras realiza una llamada telefónica.
Entre otras características adicionales aportadas por el software iPhone 2.0 se incluyen la capacidad de ubicación en el mapa y de seguimiento del recorrido en tiempo real gracias a la tecnología GPS, traslado y borrado conjunto de múltiples mensajes de email, búsqueda de contactos, acceso a una nueva calculadora científica, activación de restricciones de control parental para bloquear el acceso a contenido especificado, posibilidad de guardar directamente imágenes de una página web o enviarlas por correo electrónico al propio iPhone y transferirlas fácilmente a la biblioteca de fotos en el Mac o PC.
El iPhone 3G ofrece la sorprendente autonomía de 10 horas de conversación telefónica en redes 2G y de 5 horas usando 3G, hasta 5 ó 6 horas de navegación web, hasta 7 horas de reproducción de vídeo y hasta 24 horas de reproducción de audio.
El iPhone 3G saca pleno partido de MobileMe, un nuevo servicio de Internet que envía en modo “push” tanto el correo electrónico como las actualizaciones de contactos y calendario, directamente a aplicaciones nativas del iPhone, iPod touch, Macs y PCs.
El iPhone 3G estará disponible en España, junto a otros 22 países, el próximo 11 de julio.
