La expectación ante la salida al mercado el próximo 29 de junio del iPhone ha hecho que decenas de personas se amontonen a las puertas de los Apple Store de Nueva York, para ser los primeros en disponer de uno.
Agencias – Hoy sale el iPhone a la venta a las 6 de la tarde en Nueva York, por ello, decenas de acérrimos seguidores de los productos de Apple no se han dejado amedrentar por las altas temperaturas y la humedad que invaden la Gran Manzana en verano y, desde el pasado lunes, forman fila, día y noche, ante las tiendas que la compañía tiene en el Soho y en la Quinta Avenida.
Todo está preparado en estos establecimientos para hacer frente a la que muchos llaman ya “la fiebre del iPhone” y los responsables de Apple han colocado vallas para facilitar la creación de una fila que se espera multitudinaria para cuando el dispositivo sea finalmente puesto a la venta.
El primero de la fila -a estas horas plagada de sillas, hamacas y parasoles- es Greg Packer, un jubilado de Long Island, que se instaló a las puertas de la tienda de la Quinta Avenida en la madrugada del lunes.
Packer, que se reconoce un habitual en este tipo de acontecimientos y suele guardar turno para conseguir las primeras entradas de eventos musicales, se declaró “encantado” por ser la primera persona en Nueva York en hacerse con un iPhone.
“Es genial participar en algo así. Soy un gran fan de Apple y conseguir el primer aparato que agrupa telefonía, música e internet me hace muy feliz”, aseguró Packer, quien reparte su tiempo entre conceder entrevistas a los medios de comunicación y refrescarse con la limonada que le facilita una tienda cercana.
Además este jubilado ha abierto una cuenta corriente donde espera recibir “donaciones de aquellos que valoren esta hazaña” y que le ayuden a sobrevivir durante los cinco días que estará a la intemperie.
“Tengo que intentar ahorrar dinero para poder pagar con facilidad el iPhone”, reconoció Packer, a quien los quinientos dólares que cuesta el nuevo aparato de Apple parecen preocuparle un poco.
Cabe destacar que, aunque se informe de lo contrario el iPhone no es el primer dispositivo que abarca telefonía, música e internet, pues existen varios dispositivos en el mercado que realizan las mismas funciones, como algún modelo en concreto de HTC o el Sidekick 3.
