Tras ser presentado en enero, durante el último evento MacWorld, el primer teléfono de Apple fue objeto de una oleada de especulaciones en una serie de blogs y reportajes que señalaban que el iPhone podría retrasarse debido a cuestiones tecnológicas.
Asimismo, según un reciente comunicado difundido por la empresa de la manzana, como “el iPhone contiene un software sofisticado, terminarlo a tiempo implica tomar prestado recursos claves de ingeniería y de control de calidad del equipo de desarrollo de Mac OS X”.
Por otra parte, el presidente de operaciones de AT&T, Randall Stephenson, expresó que “más de un millón de clientes han dicho que desearían comprar uno de estos teléfonos cuando estén disponibles”.
Además, el ejecutivo de la división móvil de la operadora Cingular, indicó que las expectativas de AT&T son buenas, y que sus pruebas con la unidad han sido satisfactorias.
No obstante, Stephenson declaró que no estaba seguro del número de dispositivos que saldrán a la venta en su lanzamiento, aunque planean ofrecer una cantidad similar a la de su demanda.
