Un nuevo rumor apunta a que Apple podría estar estudiando la posibilidad de adentrarse en el limitado y reservado mundo de los SO para terminales móviles
Que Apple sea de nuevo el protagonista de un rumor es algo a lo que estamos acostumbrados. La firma de la manzana ha sido durante años fuente de cientos de rumores, algunos acabaron cumpliéndose aunque nunca para cuando estaban pronosticados, otros pasaron al olvido aunque siempre acabaron resurgiendo ante cada nueva cita de la empresa.
El de hoy es algo distinto y de ser cierto significaría un cambio importante en la industria de la telefonía móvil. Dicen en Crunchgear que Apple esta estudiando licenciar el sistema operativo del iPhone a otros fabricantes entrando en competencia directa con Symbian y Windows Mobile, aparte de las distintas distribuciones basadas en Linux.
Con ese paso, Apple podría ampliar su predominio en un mercado que crece año tras año además de aumentar significativamente la base de usuarios para su tienda iTunes.
El rumor ha sido tomado con mucha cautela. La mayoría de los sitios que se han hecho eco recuerdan que Apple no ha licenciado nunca su sistema operativo y que la experiencia de fabricar clónicos Mac en los 90 no produjo los resultados esperados ya que en lugar de “comer” mercado a otros fabricantes todos comían de la misma porción del pastel.
Claro que las circunstancias son totalmente distintas y no son pocos los que consideran que la nueva generación de terminales móviles precisa de un sistema operativo que sea capaz de sacar todo el jugo posible a la tecnología que incorporan.
apple lleva años de retraso con el iphone, y lo presentaron in-extremis anunciado disponibilidad en … UN AÑO! penoso….
¿que van a pretender durante este año? pues que la gente no se olvide del iphone…. y que se hable del tema, sea para lo que sea.
PArece que lo de anunciar productos con años de antelacion se está conviertiendo en cistumbre. Los pioneros son Windows, con los XP, el famoso longhorn que pasó a ser Vista, etc…
Apple hace lo mismo ahora…
Personalmente dudo que licencien el SO.
